  5. Geomatica FreeView is a free and flexible data 
  6. viewing tool, supporting over 100 raster and 
  7. vector formats for loading, viewing, selection 
  8. and enhancement. FreeView is useful for any 
  9. geospatial data viewing application, and is 
  10. freely distributable.
  11.  
  12. Freeview is supported on most flavors of Mircosoft
  13. Windows (98, ME, NT, 2000, XP).
  14.  
  15. INSTALLATION
  16. ------------
  17.  
  18. NOTE: Please ensure that any previous 
  19.       versions of Geomatica FreeView have
  20.       been uninstalled prior to installing
  21.       this version.
  22.  
  23. NOTE: When installing on NT or 2000, 
  24.       please ensure you are logged in as
  25.       the system administrator.
  26.  
  27. To install Geomatica FreeView, Insert the CD-ROM.
  28.  
  29. If the installation does not start automatically,
  30. run "setup.exe" on the CDRom.  
  31.  
  32. If you are accessing the installation from the PCI
  33. web page (www.pcigeomatics.com), run "FreeViewV91.exe"
  34.  
  35. Simply follow the instructions in the installation
  36. program.

  39. NLS Support
  40. -----------

  42. FreeView now supports French, Chinese and Spanish.
  43. To use these language, please set the following if
  44. you have not selected the option during installation.
  45.  
  46. On the desktop, there is an icon "Geomatica 
  47. FreeView V9.1", open the properities of this
  48. panel, and add the following to the target
  49. (after the location of the exe), for example
  50. French:

  52. "-language french"

  55. DEMO DATA 
  56. ---------

  58. The standard set of Geomatica Demonstration data
  59. can be found in the "data" directory on the CDRom.
  60. Simply copy the contents to a location 
  61.  
  62. Also included in the demo data directory are other 
  63. formats such as TIF, Arc/Info Shapes, and PCIDSK 
  64. formats.

  66. There is a detailed description of the data, 
  67. in Adobe Acrobat format, included in the 
  68. directory (readme.pdf).

  70. To download the data to your system, simply 
  71. copy the DEMO directory from the CD-ROM.

  78. UNINSTALLING
  79. -------------

  81. To uninstall Geomatica FreeView, you can do one of the 
  82. following:
  83.  
  84. 1> From the START menu, select Programs->PCI
  85.    Geomatics V9.1->Uninstall->Geomatica FreeViewn V9.1
  86.  
  87.    When the InstallShield panel comes up, 
  88.    select the REMOVE option.

  90. 2> In the Control Panel, select the Add/Remove
  91.    Programs option, and select Geomatica FreeView.
  92.    Follow the instructions in InstallShield.
