- WELCOME TO GEOMATICA FREEVIEW

- Geomatica FreeView is a free and flexible data
- viewing tool, supporting over 100 raster and
- vector formats for loading, viewing, selection
- and enhancement. FreeView is useful for any
- geospatial data viewing application, and is
- freely distributable.

- Freeview is supported on most flavors of Mircosoft
- Windows (98, ME, NT, 2000, XP).

- INSTALLATION
- ------------

- NOTE: Please ensure that any previous
- versions of Geomatica FreeView have
- been uninstalled prior to installing
- this version.
-
- NOTE: When installing on NT or 2000,
- please ensure you are logged in as
- the system administrator.
-
- To install Geomatica FreeView, Insert the CD-ROM.
-
- If the installation does not start automatically,
- run "setup.exe" on the CDRom.
-
- If you are accessing the installation from the PCI
- web page (www.pcigeomatics.com), run "FreeViewV91.exe"
-
- Simply follow the instructions in the installation
- program.

- NLS Support
- -----------

- FreeView now supports French, Chinese and Spanish.
- To use these language, please set the following if
- you have not selected the option during installation.

- On the desktop, there is an icon "Geomatica
- FreeView V9.1", open the properities of this
- panel, and add the following to the target
- (after the location of the exe), for example
- French:

- "-language french"

- DEMO DATA
- ---------

- The standard set of Geomatica Demonstration data
- can be found in the "data" directory on the CDRom.
- Simply copy the contents to a location
-
- Also included in the demo data directory are other
- formats such as TIF, Arc/Info Shapes, and PCIDSK
- formats.

- There is a detailed description of the data,
- in Adobe Acrobat format, included in the
- directory (readme.pdf).

- To download the data to your system, simply
- copy the DEMO directory from the CD-ROM.

- UNINSTALLING
- -------------

- To uninstall Geomatica FreeView, you can do one of the
- following:
-
- 1> From the START menu, select Programs->PCI
- Geomatics V9.1->Uninstall->Geomatica FreeViewn V9.1
-
- When the InstallShield panel comes up,
- select the REMOVE option.
-
- 2> In the Control Panel, select the Add/Remove
- Programs option, and select Geomatica FreeView.
- Follow the instructions in InstallShield.
